Join Kavi and the MPF team for a drink and some Gujarati snacks to kick off the BOP weekend, at the exhibition party to launch This Golden Mile.

Photographed against the backdrop of Brexit, the Windrush scandal, and a government intent on reducing net migration, in this new work Kavi documents Indian migration to Leicester, exploring themes of identity, home and Britishness.

There will be a short performance on the evening by Chandni Premgi, a Kathak dancer from the Golden Mile. Kathak is a classical form of north Indian dance, originally used to communicate narratives, often from ancient mythology.

Next door The Royal Photographic Society will be holding an artist talk with Kalpesh Lathigra, who will be discussing their work Memoire Temperelle and Lost in the Wilderness.
